Our new Japanese Selvedge Denim is here. Cut from premium Kaihara fabric, it’s denim made with patience, precision and a deep respect for craft — the kind of fabric that doesn’t just hold its shape, but builds character with every wear.
One of the reasons selvedge denim is so loved is the way it fades. Quality indigo denim is often dyed so the colour sits mostly on the outer surface of the yarn. Over time, as the fabric bends, rubs and softens, the indigo slowly wears away in high-contact areas, revealing lighter tones underneath. That’s how you get those natural fades - whiskers at the front, honeycombs behind the knee, lighter edges around the pockets. But you don’t need to overthink it. The fit becomes more personal. The colour develops depth. The surface picks up subtle marks from the way you sit, walk, work and travel. It’s not about keeping them perfect. It’s about making them your own.
