We design for the life you live. Barkers is “Made for Life” but we’re committed also making things better for both the future and the now.
Cotton
This soft, breathable fabric comes from the cotton plant, and we use it for everything from our collared dress shirts to more casual items like tees and shorts.
Cotton crops require a great deal of water, and many cotton growers rely on pesticides that are harmful for the environment and community. We want to do better than that, which is why we use responsible options in our range.
RESPONSIBLE COTTON
Responsibly sourced cotton is farmed using sustainable agricultural practices, helping farmers to grow in a way that reduces stress on the local environment and improves the livelihoods and welfare of farming communities.
GOOD EARTH COTTON
Good Earth Cotton, grown in Australia through regenerative farming practices that help improve soil health and reduce environmental impact.
ORGANIC COTTON
Conventional cotton production isn’t great for the environment or the people growing it which is why we’re proud to use organic cotton for everything from tees to trackies to trunks.
Regenerative Cotton
Here at Barkers, we’re committed to producing gear that proves top quality and sustainability go hand in hand. With that in mind, we’d like to introduce you to the material behind our 2026 Denim Collection: Regenerative Cotton. By choosing regenerative cotton, we’re actively championing the improvement of soil health, increased water conservation, and biodiversity preservation – practices that all work together to help mitigate the fashion industry’s ecological footprint. From field to fabric, regenerative cotton is a true statement of dedication towards a healthier planet.
ZQRX MERINO
The New Zealand Merino Company’s ZQRX programme provides sustainable and ethically produced merino that lives up to the ethos of giving more than we take. It’s regeneratively farmed and traceable back to where the wool is sourced; championing a new benchmark in improving the wellbeing of growers, generating biodiversity, and actively protecting the land for future generations.
For all involved, ZQRX is a journey of improvement, accurate measurement, and shared wisdom – something we value highly at Barkers.

Produced with a commitment to ethical and sustainable practices, responsibly sourced wool champions environmental conservation and animal welfare by avoiding harmful chemicals and ensuring the well-being of sheep.
In opting for ethically produced wool, we are working towards mitigating the negative impacts associated with conventional wool production, such as soil degradation and water pollution.
RECYCLED POLYESTER
Certified Global Recycle Standard (GRS) recycled polyester is made from regenerated plastics and existing polyester fibres which would otherwise go to landfill.
Recycled polyester uses less resource to make with 59 percent less energy used in comparison to virgin polyester.
French Linen
Built naturally strong and durable, yet offering the upmost breathability, we’re opting for the finest French linen originating from Normandy France.
