One afternoon at Barkers Head Office, we found a couple of boxes tucked into an unassuming corner. Curiosity got the better of us, and in a quick rummage we uncovered some hidden gems. Revealed: The #Barchives. Old newspaper clippings where Barkers made headlines, some 'BMC' number plates, film negatives and vintage catalogues containing some epic scenes and iconic product.
If you've been following us on Facebook and Instagram, you'll know that we've been resurfacing these images on a Thursday for a good ol' throwback. They've brought back some awesome memories and anecdotes across New Zealand, especially our classic Barkers trackpants. It seems like the nineties were a time to be living in a pair of Barkers trackpants, with an oversized, printed crew or polo tucked into them. Coveted by both the guys and the girls, one fan on Instagram shared a flashback of "being at boarding school in the 90s with a hundred girls wearing Barkers".
